Mike Doughty at U Street Music Hall

Mike Doughty, the man behind the infamous 90’s band Soul Coughing performed on Wednesday, February 27 at U Street Music Hall. Doughty has been performing as a solo artist since the early 2000s.

In celebration of Soul Coughing’s first record, Ruby Vroom, turning 25-years old this year, Doughty set out on tour to perform the album in it’s entirety for longtime fans.

Playing the entire record, he joked about a lack of surprise, but he did by opening with an acoustic version of “Super Bon Bon.” Doughty and long-time upright bass player, Andrew “Scrap” Livingston, were very enjoyable to watch on stage as they bantered with each other and the crowd in between songs.
