Captain Morgan was spotted! On February 13th, Captain and his girls were found at Tom Tom in Adam's Morgan entertaining the crowd. They were promoting the new Lime-Flavored Rum (Lime Bite) that was just released. Competitions, giveaways and merriment played throughout the night with everyone enjoying a great wintry night out with Captain Morgan.

On Wednesday, January 27 the Ritz Carlton in DC played host to the 9th Annual Sugar & Champagne Affair. The event was hosted by Todd and Ellen Gray of Equinox Restaurant and Salamander Hospitality, all to honor the Washington Humane Society's oficers, who work to save the abused, lost and neglected animals. The affair also benefited the Humane Education program, designed to teach elementary school children compassion for animals. All night long, guests and their four-legged friends were greeted to sparkling wines, champagne, desserts from DC chefs, and of course a few treats for our furry friends.

Every month, On Tap Magazine picks a local artist to feature. Someone we feel is "On the Verge." At the end of the year, what you get is a compilation CD we put together featuring a track from each of our amazing artists. On Saturday, January 23, On Tap held a celebratory concert at the Clarendon Grill featuring four of the bands on our CD, "On the Verge - Volume IV." The Cheaters, Rome In A Day, Crash Boom Bang and Hotspur all performed to a packed crowd in Clarendon.

Fashion Takes Flight kicked off their 2010 campaign and celebrated the beginning of their third anniversary. The event benefits Luke's Wings and took place at the Long View Gallery in DC. Two reality stars from the MTV series, "Jersey Shore" Jenni "JWow" and Pauly D, made a red carpet appearance at McFadden's on January 19. The duo was there to host the sold-out crowd, award a spring break giveaway and, oh yeah, do some fist pumping.

A DMV Helps Haiti Benefit Concert was held at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. Several DC area artists contributed: Blackcobain, K-Beta, Kingpen Slim, XO, Phil Ade feat. Raheem DeVaughn, Don Juan feat. Que & Deangelo Redman, Tabi Bonney feat. Beat Your Feet Kings, Hip Hop Caucus, and Wale headlined. The benefit concert was hosted by Chris Cole of BET’s College Hill South Beach. The United Skeeball Association (www.unitedskeeball.com) took over H Street Country Club on Tuesday, January 12 for their very own skeeball league, DC's newest social outlet. Teams played one of their favorite pasttimes while enjoying Bud Lights, music and even a raffle with prizes that included movie passes and an iPod.
