Get in the Act: How to Become a Movie Extra

Okay, so you aren't Brad Pitt or Natalie Portman, but you still have a chance to get into a film - as an extra. Get in on an all-day seminar where you'll get an introduction to the movie business, learn how to get in to the front door of acting, learn how to create a character, and get some casting contacts. Lecturer John Strawbridge is founder and creative director of Campanile Media and former associate casting director for movies such as "Wedding Crashers" and "Syriana." Tickets are $85 for members of the Smithsonian Associate Program and $120 for non-members
